May Bass Photography Sessions
NON-lANDING TRIP
We welcome you aboard the MV Saltwind for a very unique photography trip to two of the best seabird islands in Scotland. With onboard toilet facilities and plenty of room to move around on deck. We will sail to the world's largest northern Gannet colony; the Bass Rock and use fish to attract the birds close to the boat for perfect photographic opportunities. We'll then sail to the nearby Isle of May, the third largest Puffin colony in the U.K. and immerse ourselves into the world of seabirds where thousands of Puffins, Razorbill and Guillemots can be seen. This is an exclusive offer which no other Fife based boat operators offer so don't delay, book today!
Recommendation from previous passengers "We would advise a minimum of a 70-200mm lens while shooting on the Isle of May.
A wide lens, for example a 10-20mm is recommended for capturing the vastness of the cliffs and the full island. Also, the Gannets tend to like to get close, so a wide angled lens would also be useful to capture the full bird."

Fishing Trips
Duration c. 3 - 6 hours
The Firth of Forth is home to a variety of fish for our anglers to enjoy with the likes of Cod, Lythe, Mackerel, Pollock and Wrasse to name a few of what we’ve had so far. Our policy is You catch it, you keep it. As long as it’s of size, any fish you catch is yours to take home with you.
No two are the same, we are constantly adapting our trips to suit each party and the behaviour of the fish.
